Tom, I do my calculations as follows:
80 X 160 = 12,800 sq.ft.
12,800/12 = 1067 cu.ft. for 1 in. of material
1067/27 = 39.5 cu.yds.
39.5/21 = 1.88 transfers (truck with trailer 80,000lbs)
The transfer can carry 25 tons and still meet the 80,000lb gross load limit. Sand weighs 1.2 tons per yard. This varies somewhat depending on the moisture content in the sand. 25 divided by 1.2 yields 20.83 yards and I round up to 21.
I hope this makes some sense. I do these calculations almost on a dialy basis and have gotten to where I can do them in my head and be pretty accurate.

I have built some walkways before in my business and always used crushed granite. There are usually two types available. Course and fine. Fine is usually called quarter minus and nothing is larger than 1/4 inch. This is the stuff that works best. If the soil is fairly hard underneath, you only need about 2 inches of the DG. Use 3 inches if the soil is soft. Water it good when smoothing it out and when done smoothing while it is still wet, roll it with a water filled hand roller. When it dries it will be hard as concrete and when wet it will still maintain its solid consistency. You will not get any of it sticking to shoes and it takes abuse real well. It is used in a lot of parks and it looks good, works good and takes a lot of abuse.

Mower, although I haven't used my tractor for lawn mowing I would think that you would want the tires slightly overinflated to prevent any tread squirm to minimize any damage to the lawn. The very thing the method I use is supposed to achieve, I think you want to minimize. I think you would want them overinflated but not to the point of losing traction.
